Plant "TOPAZ" started its activities in 1978 as the electronics manufacturer, owned by the Ministry of Defence Industry of the former Soviet Union.
Before 1991, the plant "TOPAZ" specialized in the manufacture of small series of special units of computing devices, microelectronic devices on the technology of thin films for the needs of the military-industrial complex of the USSR.
A new stage of work at the plant "TOPAZ" came after the August 7, 2002. General Meeting of Shareholders of the plant "TOPAZ" announced the sale of shares of State Fund of Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Gaz-turbine engineering research and production center “SALUT” (FSUE “Gaz-turbine engineering research and production center “SALUT”) and as a result of the plant has been transformed into joint-stock company joint Russian-Moldovan company "plant" TOPAZ (JSC JV "plant" TOPAZ ").
FSUE “Gaz-turbine engineering research and production center “SALUT” one of the largest companies in Russia, specializing in the manufacture and service of aircraft engines of all types, as well as power plants based on these engines.

- Development and manufacturing of electronic components for digital regulators of aircraft engines manufactured by the parent company;
- Development and manufacturing of stands for verification electronic components and digital regulators;
- Development and manufacturing of electrochemical machine tools, the electronic equipment and sources of a technological current for electrochemical and electroerosive machine tools.
